***Medical Update*** June 20, 2009 Ken, I am almost 6 months SMOKE FREE and so glad to be alive! Since I left your office, I have not wanted to smoke a cigarette. I had a few occasions (e.g. when my daughter was in labor) when I thought "This is when I would usually smoke," but I had no desire to smoke. I am a non-smoker and I will be a non-smoker for the rest of my life! I have delayed writing you because I had heart surgery. I am so grateful to have quit smoking 2 months before I was admitted to the hospital via ER for severe chest pain. My coronary arteries were severely blocked. I believe quitting smoking greatly contributed to preventing me from having a heart attack, from dying, and from any complications after my surgery. I had a hospital room mate who was admitted with terminal COPD and he was still smoking. He was 60 years old, my same age, but looked much older and he looked like he was dying. He could barely breathe or walk. The doctors told him there was nothing more they could do for him and that he would die in a few months. I thought "that could be me, except I had stopped smoking and my body was already healing itself." My wife and I are so grateful for your help. After smoking for 40 years, I am so glad to be a non-smoker. Everything you said to me about quitting smoking, how I would feel, how there would be no withdrawal symptoms, how my body would heal itself, and the benefits of hypnosis were accurate. I only wish I had seen you sooner. Wishing you love, health and happiness also. With deepest gratitude, Kelly and Charlene Carter San Jose, CA
